子連れ出社後、電車に乗ろうとしたらぎゅうぎゅう駅員に押し込められるタイプの満員電車だった。子どもと乗るにはこれはだめだと、すっかり心が折れて乗るのを見送った。さて、どうしようと思いながら、反対側のホームにきていた電車を見ると、驚くほどがら空きだった。そういえば、、！と思い、娘に「このまま家に帰らずに、美術館に行ってみない？」と娘に聞いたら「行く〜！」と元気に返事をしてくれたので、思い切って、六本木に向かって森美術館で開催中のロン・ミュエク展に行くことにした。六本木１丁目から森美術館まで２０分ほど歩くことになったけど、おしゃべりしていたらいつの間にか美術館についた。子ども向けの塗り絵ガイドもあり、同じ彫刻を見つけるのにワクワクしたり、大きな彫刻に対面したときに鎌倉の大仏を見たときと同じ反応で「うわあああああ」と腹の底から声を出して、目をキラキラさせていた。「美術館ってたのしい。また来ようね。」と言っていたので、良かった。ふらりと美術館、頻繁に計画しようと思った。
Took my daughter to work with me today, but when we tried to take the train home, the rush-hour crowd was a total spirit breaker. I let it go by, feeling stuck. But then I looked over at the opposite platform and saw a train empty enough to sit down. So I switched tracks on a whim and headed to Roppongi for the Ron Mueck exhibit at the Mori Art Museum!I’d been wanting to take her for a while, curious about how she’d react to giant sculptures, so I figured, "Perfect timing!" and ditched our plan of going straight home.She had the exact same reaction as when she saw the Great Buddha of Kamakura: shouting "WOAAAA!" with all her heart, her eyes completely lit up. Hearing her say, "Museums are fun! Let’s come back," made my day. Spontaneous museum dates are definitely going to become our new thing!
